1. Start with a spacer bead

2. Place a small strip of glass on top of the spacer bead

3. Keep adding small coils of glass on top of the first one until the strip is about as thick as the spacer bead itself

4. Place a small dab of clear on the side of the narrow strip, but not on the spacer bead itself

5. Do this 4 more times (or however many you wish) spacing them evenly around the bead

6. Do the same on the opposite side of the bead, but place these dabs in between the ones on the other side

7. Slowly start heating just the edge of the glass so that the bead starts taking shape

8. Almost there.  You can see the "wave" starting to appear
